Proposal writer:

Position: Proposal Writer
Reports to: Executive Director
Location: Abbotsford, BC
Status: Ongoing/Full-time

SCOPE: To enhance the generation of contributions from
foundation, church, denominational, individual and corporate
donors through the creation of copy for proposals, reports and
other written and electronic communication vehicles.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Strategize and write compelling copy.
2. Research/fact check using internal and external resources.
3. Liaise with staff to create high quality documents.
4. Primary focus - foundation grant proposals and
    stewardship/update reports.
5. Develop stories for potential use through research, interviews
    and ministry visits.
6. Edit and provide final proofing for any communications
    materials.
7. Assist with other projects within the division as needed or as assigned by the supervisor.

KEY SKILLS/REQUIREMENTS:
1. Undergraduate degree.
2. 1-3 years grant writing experience preferably in a Christian or relief and development organization.
3. Computer (word processing, etc.) experience and skills.
4. Understanding of a non-profit fund raising environment.
5. Good proofing skills.
6. Knowledge of and interest in world events important.
